Former Massachusetts Republican Sen. Scott Brown’s brother was arrested in Connecticut Thursday night for impersonating a police officer, CBS Boston reports.

Bruce W. Browne, despite spelling his last name differently, has been confirmed by Police Chief Edward Stephens as the former Senator’s brother.

Browne, who allegedly commandeered a boat earlier in the day, was found in a blue Crown Victoria along with three loaded 9 mm handguns, a duty belt with two pairs of handcuffs, a police baton and 12 fully-loaded magazines.

Additionally, the former Senator’s brother had a bulletproof vest embroidered with “POLICE” with a TSA badge attached.

Browne has been charged with impersonating a police officer, breach of peace, interfering with a police officer and possession of a dangerous weapon in a motor vehicle.

Browne was released on a $50,000 bail and is due in court later this month.
