QUOTE OF THE DAY:

“Only 8 months into the Trump Presidency we are on the brink of nuclear war and Nazis are in streets of an American city. Seems about right.”

Dan Pfeiffer, Veep of Comms, GoFundMe, ex-aide to President Obama.

MSNBC’s Donny Deutsch goes off on Trump

“What a pathetic little sniveling man our president is.” — Donny Deutsch on Monday’s “Morning Joe.” Deutsch then called him “a racist.”

LeBron doesn’t think Trump is succeeding at MAGA

“It’s sad what’s going on in Charlottesville. Is this the direction our country is heading? Make America Great Again huh?! He said that.” LeBron James, professional basketball player, Cleveland Cavaliers.

Author needs Chilean Sea Bass for her nerves

“I need some steamed Chilean Sea Bass for my nerves today. With brown rice and a salad and sauteed broccoli. Out the door.” — Terry McMillan, author.

Journalist compares Trump to Hitler

“When you read history of Nazi Germany, one of the chief arguments Hitler made was he was standing up to ‘violent leftists.'” — Gabriel Sherman, Vanity Fair special correspondent

NYT reporter calls bullshit on Sens. Rubio, Cruz

“Sorry to be cynical, but most of all Rubio and Ted Cruz to me seem mostly to be doing a tremendous job of posturing for 2020.” — Eric Lipton, investigative reporter, NYT.

Journos are unimpressed with Trump’s week

“Not many presidents could make threatening nuclear war the second worst thing he did in a week.” — Gady Epstein, media editor, The Economist.

“By any measure, Trump has failed his first big domestic crisis.” — Jim Roberts, lifelong newsman, ex-NYT, Reuters, and Mashable.

Former deputy AG also isn’t too awed by him either…

“The poison spewed by Nazis, white supremacists, and the KKK is not who we are as a country. Takes less than 140 characters to say it.” — Sally Yates, former Deputy Attorney General of the U.S.

Reporter hates public speaking. But she’s ‘sure as shit’ doing it after being threatened with revenge porn.

Cassandra Fairbanks, a reporter for the right-leaning BigLeaguePolitics, said she was threatened with “revenge porn” over the weekend. “Feminist tolerant left is planning to flyer the city and print giant posters of revenge porn of me from when I was 17 (a minor, 15 years ago),” she shared on Twitter.

The reason? Her foes think she’s a white nationalist.

And to put it mildly, she wasn’t happy about it.

“I, as most know, am from MA, and I just got an extremely disgusting sexual threat passed on from a ‘friend(?)’ about me speaking there. Have to say that what I got tonight tops them all. It’s so bad that I am going to have to go to the police and explain this publicly. Well they sure as shit aren’t stopping me from speaking now. I am going to speak no matter fucking what. I hate public speaking.”

A free speech rally in Boston — where Fairbanks is scheduled to speak —  prompted detractors to go after Fairbanks.

She did receive this threat, which she posted.

And this…

Journo is at a loss for words about the violence in Charlottesville

“I don’t know what to say but I don’t believe in staying silent.” — Kathleen Gaeta, culture and entertainment writer, IJR.

But this one is not…

“When Democrats want to gripe about Trump all I can think is, ‘YOU PUT UP HILLARY F***ING CLINTON.’ …Trump being president isn’t on the 53% of women or even the men. It’s on the Dems for choosing a WORSE option than Trump. Think about that. I would’ve sucked it up and gone with Creepy Uncle Joe over Trump, rather than voting 3rd candidate. …Don’t get me wrong, Trump shouldn’t have won against anyone. That’s the GOP’s issue to deal w as well. He should never have been the nominee.” — Andrea Ruth, senior contributor, RedState.

And neither is this one…

“‘Best regards’??? You really have no idea how to do any of this.” — W. Kamau Bell, CNN, mocking Trump’s tweet to the victims of Charlottesville.

Nor this one…

“Seems a lot of Republicans have put out statements on Charlottesville stronger than POTUS. Wonder why?” — Josh Dawsey, White House reporter, Politico.

MSNBC’s Ali Velshi dings Trump

“Let’s be clear: if a Muslim were driving that car, there’d be no hesitation from @realDonaldTrumpabout calling it a terror attack.” —Ali Velshi.

Mark Cuban dumps on Trump

“@realDonaldTrump remember when you told me that you don’t go to regular people’s homes to have dinner. I know you haven’t. Time to change.” — Mark Cuban, American businessman, TV personality.

So does Zach Braff…

“The president won’t specifically denounce Nazis or White Supremacists for fear of it hurting his reelection.” — Zach Braff, actor.

This Hollywood Reporter editor gets emotional about missing Obama

“I miss Barack Obama so much I want to cry.” — Peter Flax, features editor, The Hollywood Reporter.

RedState editor still happy about being ex-GOP

“I’ve been happily ex-GOP for a while, and reactions to today’s events only reaffirm that I made the correct decision.” — Kimberly Ross, senior contributing editor, RedState.

GOPer says Trump officials are pro-Nazi

“This Administration has *at least* three senior White House officials who are cheering for the Nazis in #charlottesville.” — Rick Wilson, columnist, The Daily Beast.

Lara Loomer has something to say about the Alt Right

Of course, keep in mind her recent tire debacle.

“Before attacking the right as a whole, know that most ppl in ‘Alt Right’ are national socialists. Nat socialism is not “right.” It’s leftism.” — Lara Loomer, TheRebelTV.
