Real Life ‘Raging Bull’ Jake LaMotta Has Died At 95

Boxing legend Jake LaMotta has died at the age of 95. According to TMZ Sports, he died in a nursing home with his wife Denise Baker by his side after suffering from pneumonia.

LaMotta, from the Bronx was a former middleweight world champion and was nicknamed ‘Raging Bull’. He was portrayed by Robert DeNiro in the film ‘Raging Bull’, for which DeNiro won best actor in 1981.

The ‘Raging Bull’ retired in 1954 and went on to become an actor and stand up comic. He was married seven times, and had two sons and four daughters. LaMotta was inducted into the International Boxing Hall of Fame in 1990.

Baker told TMZ Sports, “I just want people to know, he was a great, sweet, sensitive, strong, compelling man with a great sense of humor, with eyes that danced.”
