MSNBC had a hard time grappling with the fact that President Donald Trump used some “dark” language to describe dictatorial regime North Korea during a Tuesday speech.

Washington Post reporter Philip Rucker was the first to point out Trump’s tone, stating, “he described it as hell, he described it as a murderous regime, in very dark terms.”
“Phil, to one of your points, I was really struck by how clinical and graphic the speech got at one point — very dark!” anchor Brian Williams whined. “I was wondering how that was injected into the speech, not the kind of thing you wanted children in the room to hear.”
Rucker agreed that people wouldn’t want their children to hear Trump’s speech, but noted that Trump has the tendency to get “dark” in many of his speeches.
“We’ve seen this before in some of President Trump’s speeches, including in his inaugural address when he talked about ‘American carnage’ … He describes terrorists as animals. I mean, he really likes to come up with sort of visceral terminology.”
