Washington Post writer Jennifer Rubin appeared on MSNBC’s “All In” Monday to compare Roy Moore supporters to a “cult.”

WATCH:

MSNBC host Chris Hayes compared two alleged signatures from Roy Moore and referred to the Moore campaign’s claim that Moore’s signature in Beverly Young Nelson’s yearbook was forged as a “conspiracy theory.”

Rubin said, “Yeah. I mean, they’re going to come up with every excuse in the book. It’s a cult. And when you’re in a cult, you’ll construct any fact pattern to avoid confronting reality. So they could have film. They could have a confession, and it wouldn’t make any difference.”

She continued, “You remember the guy in the focus group who said, ‘If Jesus came down and said that Roy Moore had done this, I would have to go talk to Roy Moore about it.’ That’s how bizarrely disconnected from morality, disconnected from any set of principles these people have become.” (RELATED: MSNBC Guest: Republicans Are The Party Of ‘White Supremacists’ And ‘Sexual Assaulters’ [VIDEO])
