Netflix is expanding its original content and planning to flood its streaming service with new original films in an effort to compete with Hollywood studios.

Netflix will release at least 86 original titles by the end of 2018, according to Reuters. This will surpass the number of films coming out of Hollywood’s top four studios combined. The internet company released a total of 61 films in 2017. (RELATED: Netflix Pushes Gun Control Politics With ‘The Punisher’)

The Walt Disney Company will stop providing Netflix with films starting in 2019, serving as a catalyst for the company’s increase in original content, Reuters reported.

The company told Reuters the 33 films they’ve released in 2018 have been viewed more than 300 million times by more than 80 million customers around the globe. They claim to be averaging 9 million viewers per film.

“It’s art and science,” Ian Bricke, who oversees Netflix’s independent film licensing and production, told Reuters. “Our global audience is more and more diverse. We are constantly learning and trying to get smarter.”
