Dershowitz Hammers DOJ Political Bias

Political commentator Alan Dershowitz hammered the Department of Justice Monday on Fox News over its alleged partisan investigations and attempts to criminalize political disagreements.

Watch:

“We have to have one standard of justice for all,” Dershowitz said. “We have to use the criminal law only as a last resort when there is clear evidence that an existing statutory crime has been committed. I don’t think that standard has been met.”

Dershowitz and Fox’s Harris Faulkner were discussing Inspector General Mike Horowitz’s upcoming report on the DOJ’s handling of the Hillary Clinton email scandal.

“We shouldn’t be weaponizing the criminal justice system against either side,” Horowitz said, adding that the Inspector General ought to consider whether investigating former FBI director James Comey would be politically biased. “I don’t think two wrongs make a right. I think it was wrong to appoint a special counsel to investigate Trump. I think it’s equally wrong to appoint a special counsel to investigate Comey,” Dershowitz said. “You don’t turn political opposition into criminalization.” (RELATED: Dershowitz Explodes: ‘I Don’t Want To Live In A Police State’)

The Inspector General report is slated for release on Thursday.
