Former Obama adviser Wendy Sherman on Monday mocked the upcoming Singapore summit as a “sitcom” and not about securing the United States.

Watch:

“I feel like President Trump and Kim Jong-un are going to be members of ‘Celebrity Apprentice,'” Sherman told MSNBC’s Andrea Mitchell. “This really just feels like a sitcom of some sort as opposed to having the gravity that this is really about the security of the United States of America.”

Mitchell noted that Sherman once met for negotiations with Kim Jong-il back in 2000.

Sherman accused Trump of being obsessed “with looking strong and powerful and tough, which was what he thought he was doing at the G7.”

“Now he finds himself in the middle of a rodeo with Kim Jong-un who knows exactly what he wants and has a game plan he’s going to follow,” she said. (RELATED: Sherman Says Hillary Lost Because Obama Is Black)

Now an MSNBC contributor, Sherman was undersecretary of state for political affairs during the Obama administration and was special assistant to President Clinton.

President Trump arrived Sunday in Singapore to meet with Kim Tuesday morning.
