President Donald Trump is celebrating a string of achievements as he returns home from his summit with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un.
“Heading back home from Singapore after a truly amazing visit. Great progress was made on the denuclearization of North Korea,” Trump tweeted Tuesday afternoon, “Got along great with Kim Jong-un who wants to see wonderful things for his country.”
“Anyone can make war, but only the most courageous can make peace!” he added in his first official tweet on the summit since its conclusion.

The president claims a number of achivements since he began engaging North Korea in diplomacy.
Pyongyang announced a moratorium on weapons testing while talks are underway, and then later, Kim revealed that his country has no plans to conduct any additional nuclear tests. North Korea demolished its Punggye-ri nuclear test site toward the end of May, although the extent of the damage is unknown. (RELATED: North Korea Demolishes Its Punggye-ri Nuclear Test Site)
The North’s last missile test was in November 2017, when it tested the Hwasong-15 intercontinental ballistic missile, a powerful weapon believed to be able to range the entire continental U.S.

During the summit in Singapore, Trump and Kim reached an agreement on the return of remains of soldiers who fell during the Korean War, and Trump says that Kim plans to close down additional missile testing sites.
As for the research and development aspect of the president’s tweet, there is no publicly available evidence that North Korea has halted research-related activities, but it is unclear what the North Koreans have revealed behind close doors.
Furthermore, in the landmark agreement Trump and Kim signed in Singapore, Kim reaffirmed his commitment to the “complete denuclearization of the Korean” Peninsula, a process Trump expects to begin soon.
