“The president was briefed on the IG report earlier today,” Sanders said during the press briefing Thursday. “It confirms the president’s suspicions about Comey’s conduct and the bias about some members at the FBI. Director Wray will hold a press conference this afternoon and we encourage you to tune in for specific questions.”

Inspector General Michael Horowitz revealed Thursday that Comey did not follow FBI protocol during his investigation into former secretary of state Hillary Clinton’s use of a private email server. The report also revealed that Comey improperly used a personal Gmail account to conduct FBI official business, despite the fact it was against FBI policy. (RELATED: Comey Used A Private Email Account For Official FBI Business)
