House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi called on Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen to resign over her handling of the migrant children crisis in a Monday night tweet.

“Children are being used by the Trump Admin to create leverage, with a goal of passing Trump’s anti immigrant agenda. I struggle to think of anything more barbaric,” Pelosi said in the tweet.

Pelosi is not the only high-profile Democrat to call for Nielsen’s resignation. Democratic California Sen. Kamala Harris also called on Nielsen to resign, citing “human rights abuses” committed under her leadership in a Monday tweet. Nielsen has come under fire for her handling of the issue of illegal migrant children being separated from their families. Nielsen stated on Twitter Monday that DHS “will not apologize for enforcing the laws passed by Congress” and that “Congress can fix these problems.”
