Nickelodeon Smashes CNN, MSNBC In Ratings

Fox News marked its 23rd week as the number one network in cable as competitors CNN and MSNBC fell to a network dedicated to children’s shows.

According to Nielsen Media Research, Fox News averaged 1.6 million in total viewers during the week of June 11 to June 17, and 328,000 in the coveted 25-54 demographic. FNC was equally dominant in primetime, averaging 2.9 million viewers. They received a nice boost from their coverage of the North Korea summit in Singapore, which gave front-runner Hannity 5.9 million viewers. (RELATED: Fox News Leads Cable Ratings For 22nd Consecutive Week)

Cable news competitors CNN and MSNBC fell far behind the top spot. In total day viewers, both CNN and MSNBC lost to Nickelodeon. (RELATED: Fox News Wrecks Competition In May Cable Ratings)

Nickelodeon averaged 969,000 viewers across the week, while MSNBC averaged 928,000 and CNN just 649,000.

MSNBC ranked second in primetime with 1.8 million viewers and CNN ranked sixth with 1.03 million.

Fox Business Network also beat its competitor, CNBC, for the 18th consecutive week.
