A former Arizona state representative who was expelled from office for sexual misconduct can now run for state Senate, Arizona’s Supreme Court ruled Wednesday.
An investigation found Republican Don Shooter guilty of sexually harassing at least seven women, some of whom were elected officials, reported the Associated Press. The House voted to oust him 56-3 on Feb. 1.
After delivering his symbolic “no” vote in February, Shooter dropped his mic in a final act of protest, reported Tucson.com.

The Arizona Supreme Court affirmed a previous decision to allow Shooter to claim an apartment he has rented for five years in Yuma as his primary residence. Shooter has lived in an area of Phoenix outside of the district he wants to represent since the start of the 2017 legislative session, reported the Arizona Capitol Times.
Shooter previously served in the Arizona state Senate from 2011 to 2017.
Shooter will face appointed incumbent state Sen. Sine Kerr and Brent Backus, who filed the challenge to Shooter’s claim to Yuma residency, in the Republican primary.
