The Huffington Post’s homepage displayed a clothes hanger with the phrase “The End Of Roe” following the Justice Anthony Kennedy’s resignation on Thursday afternoon.

The wire hanger is a clear reference to clothes-hanger abortions — or abortions that are done illegally. HuffPo is implying that with Kennedy’s resignation, the new Supreme Court will overturn “Roe v. Wade” (1973) to outlaw abortions.

Justice Kennedy announced his retirement Wednesday hours after the justices released the final decisions of the current term.

Many believe that Kennedy’s retirement will lead to the retrial of many verdicts that Kennedy provided the deciding vote for such as gay rights, abortion, the First Amendment, and Guantanamo Bay detainees.

“I think it is doomed and abortion will be illegal in a significant chunk of this country in 18 months,” CNN legal analyst Jeffrey Toobin tweeted. (RELATED: IT ONLY TOOK JEFFREY TOOBIN THREE HOURS AFTER JUSTICE KENNEDY’S RETIREMENT TO TALK ABOUT ABORTION [VIDEO])

Kennedy wrote in a letter to President Trump, “For a member of the legal profession, it is the highest honor to serve on this Court. Please permit me by this letter to express my profound gratitude for having had the privilege to seek in each case how best to know, interpret and defend the Constitution.” (RELATED: KENNEDY CALLS IT QUITS: LONGTIME SWING JUSTICE HANDS TRUMP THE BIGGEST GIFT OF HIS PRESIDENCY)
