Democratic Congressman Mark Pocan of Wisconsin, who introduced the “Abolish ICE” bill in the House on July 12 admitted that he would vote against it, he said on “Tucker Carlson Tonight” Tuesday.

WATCH:

The bill, which was co-sponsored by nine Democrats, hopes to dismantle the 15-year-old agency to amp up security at the border and protect from illegal immigrants entering the country.

President Donald Trump is against abolishing ICE, tweeting it will “mean more crime in our country.”

“What would you do about illegals who get busted for DUI [if] there’s no ICE?” Carlson asked Pocan. Do they get to stay? What happens, specifically, in that case?” Carlson asked Pocan.

Pocan refused to answer, seemingly with no prospective solution in mind, and instead pivoted to the issue of family separations, saying that reunifying children separated from their parents at the border should be the priority for this week.

Polling data shows that the majority of voters, 54 percent, support the federal government continuing to fund ICE, while 21 percent of voters are undecided, according to a Politico/Morning Consult poll on July 11. The voters in support of abolishing ICE, 25 percent, are Democrats.
