“I do want to say we have some breaking news. The White House has announced on Twitter that Vladimir Putin is coming to the White House in the fall,” MSNBC host Andrea Mitchell told Coats.

“Say that again?” said Coats as he leaned toward Mitchell while the crowd laughed.

“You … Vladimir Putin is coming to — ” Mitchell started.

“Yeah, I heard you. Yeah, I heard,” responded Coats.

Coats responded with a drawn-out, “Okay…” as he and Mitchell continued to laugh with the crowd around them. “That’s going to be special,” he said.

President Trump urged National Security Advisor John Bolton to invited Putin to the White House Thursday, and the news broke while Mitchell interviewed Coats at the National Security Forum in Aspen, Co. (RELATED: Trump Invites Putin Back To Washington, DC, For First Time Since 2001)
