Sen. Tim Scott called out both Democratic Sen. Elizabeth Warren and Democratic Socialist congressional hopeful Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez for falsely stating that people having multiple jobs is the reason behind the lower unemployment rate on Fox and Friends on Friday morning.

Scott and Sen. Joni Ernst were on the show talking about the Trump economy and the Democrats’ comments concerning the current low unemployment rate.

“Unemployment is so low that the long-term unemployed are coming back to work,” Scott stated. “And we have a 45-year high in optimism from small businesses. The left is losing their mind. This is kind of fun to watch on TV because no one believes what they are saying. It’s so far out of the realm of reality. We are in good shape.”

“Let me comment on that. 148 million Americans are working. 7 or 8 million have more than one job. That’s 7 or 8 million have more than one job out of nearly 150 million people. Their comments were theater,” he continued.

The “Fox & Friends” segment began by airing the clips of Ocasio-Cortez and Warren that Scott based his comments on. Democratic congressional hopeful Ocasio-Cortez said that “unemployment is low because everyone has two jobs,” earlier this week.

Earlier this week, Sen. Warren upped the ante, saying that people are actually working “two, three, or four jobs to try to pay the rent and keep food on the table.” (RELATED: Liz Warren: ‘People Are Working 3,4 Jobs To Survive)
