An art gallery owner discovered that his storage locker full of “junk” was actually stocked with expensive paintings worth up to tens of millions of dollars, he told the New York Post Saturday.

David Killen, owner of the David Killen Gallery, was shocked after finding that his storage locker filled with a “bunch of junk” actually had rare paintings by abstract artist Willam de Kooning and modernist Paul Klee, he explained to the New York Post.

Killen originally spent $15,000 on the storage locker located in Ho-Ho-Kus, New Jersey last year. The storage locker was filled with 200 different types of artwork, which the gallery owner believed he could sell in upcoming auctions. (RELATED: Vase Found In Old Shoe Box Set To Go For $600K In Auction)

He soon discovered that the storage locker actually had six rare paintings by de Kooning and another by Klee.

“I see these huge boxes that say de Kooning on them,” Killen said. “What are the odds of finding a de Kooning in a storage unit? It’s unheard of!”

The gallery owner believes that the paintings could go anywhere from $30,000 to tens of millions of dollars.

“Life is full of extraordinary discoveries. I’ve paid my dues,” Killen said. “I’m ready for membership in the million dollar club.”

He will unveil one of the paintings at a reception Tuesday. He will put the paintings up for sale in the fall.
