Van Jones said President Donald Trump puts out a “negative vibration” and shared that he fears that people with left-wing values are “starting to become [the same people] we’re fighting.”

The comments came during a panel discussion on “The View” Thursday when Joy Behar shared that vandals untied a $40 million yacht that belonged to Secretary of Education Betsy DeVos and set it adrift.

The CNN host said he was raised right by his parents who said “don’t let bad people make you be a bad person back.”

“I’m not going to become what I’m fighting,” Jones explained. “I think it’s a big danger, and this is a character test for everybody in this country. The President of the United States has a lot of spiritual power. I see Donald Trump as putting out a negative vibration that a lot of us are starting to pick up on.”

“And we’re starting to become what we’re fighting,” he added. “He’s ADD [sic]. Now we’re ADD. We don’t know what’s going on, and he doesn’t know what’s going on. He is mean to everybody, and we’re starting to get mean. I don’t think we should be doing property damage. We should be registering voters so we can win the mid-term elections.”

Later, Jones said that “there’s not going to be a blue wave without the work” and warned that “if [Democrats] think they can just run against Donald Trump and win just based on that, no. You are going to have to talk to real people about real stuff in your district.”
