President Donald Trump’s personal lawyer Rudy Giuliani blasted President Donald Trump’s former lawyer Michael Cohen on Sunday, saying he has “destroyed himself as a witness” in any case against the president.

Giuliani was asked by anchor Chris Wallace on “Fox News Sunday” if he thought there was anything wrong with Trump possibly lying to The New York Times. Giuliani made it clear that Cohen has continued to lie and contradict himself on numerous occasions.

“I guess there’s something wrong with it on an ethical, moral basis. If you got prosecuted for lying to the newspapers of the press, my God, Cohen should go to jail for a thousand years. His tapes are filled with lies, including the most basic of all, he wasn’t recording it. But no, he didn’t lie to them. This is a leak now, so he may change it. Cohen — you have to pick the day to figure out the story,” Giuliani said.

Giuliani also said Cohen’s “default position is to lie.”

“I should say I feel sorry for him, but nobody would believe me. He has destroyed himself, Chris, as a witness. I prosecuted 5,000 cases. I would never prosecute a case on this guys testimony. First of all he talks to the press. He may be taping me. Second, he has contradicted so many times, beginning at cross examination, which set of lies are you going to tell us today Michael?,” Giuliani continued. Giuliani has continued to criticize Cohen since it was made public that he recorded private interactions with Trump while serving as his personal lawyer.
