Illegal Immigrant Deported Five Times Sentenced For Third DUI

An illegal immigrant from Mexico who has been deported from the U.S. five times was sentenced to nine months in jail Monday for his third DUI in Virginia.

Mario Santos-Ochoa, 44, who has been in the U.S. illegally for 28 years, received his jail sentence Monday. Immigration officials placed a detainer on him, meaning he could be deported after he finishes his nine-month jail sentence, the Richmond Times-Dispatch reported(RELATED: Illegal Alien Suspect In DUI Death Of Colts Player Charged With Immigration Felony)

Santos-Ochoa was deported five times between September 1997 and September 2014, according to Fox News and has been raising his four kids in the U.S.

“He is a danger to Chesterfield and a danger to the community,” Chesterfield prosecutor Ben Garrison said to the paper.

He was convicted three times in federal court in Texas of re-entering the U.S. and was deported in 2009, 2011 and 2012. Santos-Ochoa was  sentenced to seven months, 180 days and 15 months, respectively, in federal prison, according to court documents filed in U.S. District Court in southern Texas.

Santos-Ochoa’s blood alcohol content registered 0.11 percent, 0.3 of a percent above the legal driving limit of 0.08 percent.
