Fox News host Jesse Watters went after President Obama — for endorsing specific Democratic candidates for the midterm elections — during a segment on “The Five” on Thursday evening.

WATCH:

“I think the country already rejected a third Obama term when they rejected Hillary Clinton. And Obama doesn’t do very well when he’s not on the ballot. Remember, he just got shellacked in both midterms during his presidency,” Watters began.

“I don’t believe the country wants to look backwards. I think the country wants to look forwards,” he continued. “What we saw during the Obama years were terrible economy, racial riots, and a lot of consternation in the public. There wasn’t a lot of good things that were happening.”

Watters was referencing a list of endorsements Obama handed out to Democratic candidates on Wednesday. The former president notably didn’t endorse Democratic Socialist Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, who defeated incumbent Joe Crowley in the primary for New York’s 14th congressional district, or Andrew Cuomo, who’s running for reelection to be governor of New York for a third term. (RELATED: Barack Obama Wants You To Know Who To Support In November)
