President Donald Trump’s personal lawyer Rudy Giuliani said he and the rest of Trump’s legal team will decide if the president should sit down with special counsel Robert Mueller within the next 10 days.

Giuliani said the decision would be made “in the next week to 10 days” in a Thursday interview with Politico. The former New York City mayor said Trump will make the decision with his legal team based on the questions Mueller intends to ask. The two sides are working on a set of questions in which they both would agree is fair.

However, Giuliani made it clear that Trump and his legal team do not want questions regarding obstruction in the 2016 presidential election. This echoes a similar comment he made to the press earlier Thursday, telling Mueller to “put up or shut up.” (RELATED: Giuliani To Mueller: ‘Put Up Or Shut Up’)

“We don’t want questioning on obstruction. They would have to concede that,” Giuliani said. “It depends on how much they want his testimony on the other (topic).”

Before Trump hired Giuliani, his lawyers and Mueller had previously discussed a potential Jan. 27 date to meet for a several hour interview at Camp David. Giuliani said in June Trump’s legal team would know by July 4 whether the president would sit down with Mueller, however, on July 5, he said he was unsure when the interview would happen.

Trump left the White House Thursday night for Bedminster, New Jersey, where he is planning on staying until August 13.
