Five Times The Establishment Media Excused Antifa Violence

Justin Caruso | Senior Media Reporter

In response to a white nationalist rally in Washington, D.C., Sunday, the “antifascist” left-wing group Antifa took to the streets all weekend.

Antifa protesters were involved in a variety of violent incidents, attacking journalists and facing off with police officers.

Some also called for the destruction of the United States altogether, chanting, “No border, no wall, no USA at all!”

Far-left Antifa claims to fight “fascists” and white supremacists, but they have also attacked numerous conservatives and Trump supporters with no connection to white supremacists. All along the way, many in the establishment media have excused and, in some cases, promoted Antifa.

CNN’s Sara Sidner Defends Antifa Violence

Following violence in Charlottesville, VA, after white nationalist groups and Antifa clashed last August, CNN correspondent Sara Sidner seemingly excused violence from Antifa.

“There’s a group of anti-fascist called the black bloc, which do tend to get violent. Their idea is, ‘look, non-violence hasn’t worked, we are going to try to stop this,'” Sidner said.

“But, they wouldn’t have been there. They wouldn’t have been anywhere near there had it not been for the fact that white supremacists and neo-Nazis were out there scaring the living daylights out of most of the people in that town,” she added. (RELATED: CNN Correspondent Defends Antifa Violence)

CNN’s W. Kamau Bell Speaks At Antifa Rally

CNN host W. Kamau Bell spoke at a left-wing rally last August that devolved into Antifa violence.

Fox News’ Tucker Carlson criticized Bell for talking at the rally, saying, “Even if they didn’t use violence, Antifa would still be illegitimate and a threat to America.”

“None of that seems to matter to Kamau Bell. He’s happy to stand up on stage and called his opponents Nazis. That’s not a label you use on people you want to debate. It’s a label you use to incite rage. He had to know how this would end. He did it anyway,” Carlson added.

MSNBC Host Nicolle Wallace Calls Antifa ‘Good People’ On The ‘Side Of Angels’

“There were really bad guys on the side of the KKK, and then there were good people opposing the KKK,” Wallace said in September in response to President Trump calling out Antifa.

She added, “One of the people on the side of angels lost her life.”

WaPo’s Jonathan Capehart: ‘Antifa Is Not The Issue’

Washington Post writer and MSNBC contributor Jonathan Capehart said in an appearance on MSNBC in September that “Antifa is not the issue.”

“You know, you can bring up Antifa all you want. I didn’t even know the phrase until Charlottesville happened. Antifa is not the issue. It’s white supremacists, it’s Neo-Nazis, it’s racists and bigots …” he said. (RELATED: WaPo Journalist On MSNBC: ‘Antifa Is Not The Issue’)
