President Trump traveled to Fort Drum Army base in New York on Monday to sign the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA). The NDAA authorized $716 billion for national defense and new equipment for the military. Some of that equipment was on display for the president to see as he landed on the tarmac.

Trump saluted soldiers during and after an air assault exercise at Fort Drum. The president was joined by Army Major General Walter Piatt, and they watched multiple synchronized helicopter landings and military formations. Cannons fired and men assumed tactical formations while the commander-in-chief watched.
