Sarah Sanders on Wednesday issued a stark reminder that, despite the chaos that can sometimes swirl around Washington, President Trump is actually making a difference for “generations to come” when it comes to transforming America’s judiciary.

The White House press secretary tweeted a link from Washington Post reporter Robert Costa, who wrote “A reminder here that the real news isn’t always a splashy headline. ‘The Senate already has installed 24 appellate judges since Trump was sworn in, the highest number for a president’s first two years in office,'” along with a link to a Washington Post article by Sean Sullivan and Mike DeBonis entitled “With little fanfare, Trump and McConnell reshape the nation’s circuit courts.”

“Good story about something that matters & people actually care about,” Sanders tweeted. “President Trump is transforming our nation’s courts for generations to come.”

In an article about the lasting impact President Trump and Mitch McConnell have already had on the judiciary, the Post reports:

The Senate will return Wednesday from an abbreviated summer recess to confirm two more federal appeals court judges by the end of the week. That would come on top of a record-breaking string of confirmations: The Senate already has installed 24 appellate judges since Trump was sworn in, the highest number for a president’s first two years in office.

While much of the focus has been on Kavanaugh and Justice Neil M. Gorsuch, the Senate’s rapid approval of appellate judges is likely to have its own broad impact on the nation, as the 13 circuit courts will shape decisions on immigration, voting rights, abortion and the environment for generations.
