Angel mom Michelle Root scoffed at the idea of family separations on the border on Friday, noting that she is permanently separated from her daughter, Sarah.

Fox anchor Jon Scott explained during an interview with Root that President Trump was criticized for saying that Iowa college student Mollie Tibbetts was “permanently separated” from her family when she was murdered by an illegal immigrant.

“But it’s true,” Root asserted. “We hear the left stating, you know, we can’t separate these parents … yet we don’t care about us American citizens that have been permanently separated from our loved ones, our children.”

“I never get to reunite with Sarah in a day, an hour, ten months, a year. Never,” Root declared. “Until I die and go up to heaven will I be reunited with my daughter.”

Root’s daughter, Sarah, was killed in a car crash involving a drunk driver just hours after her graduation. The driver, Eswin Mejia, was in the U.S. illegally but was not held on an immigration retainer and disappeared after posting bail.

Root denied that her daughter’s death has been unfairly “politicized” and urged politicians to make sure another family doesn’t lose a child due to illegal immigrant crime.

“It is a story that needs to be out there because it is a real thing. It is something that is happening daily to American families, and I do not want to see another family have to go through this, and unfortunately now Mollie’s family is going through this,” Root concluded.
