On today’s edition of The Daily Daily Caller Podcast, we get into the culture wars, big time.

Listen to the show:

Nike has hired former NFL quarterback Colin Kaepernick to be the face of the 30th anniversary for its “Just Do It” campaign. Kaepernick is known for riding the bench his last year in the league and for starting protests against racial injustice and police brutality during the national anthem, not his athleticism. Why would a major corporation choose as liberal activist with so many negatives to be the face of its new campaign? Because, as has been the case for years, major companies in the U.S. try to buy favor with the left-wing angry mob in the hope of having their “sins” ignored or passed over, and Nike has a history of sins it need to be ignored. Maybe “woke” isn’t as woke as it seems. We make the case.

Chuck Todd, host of NBC’s “Meet the Press,” has had enough of Fox News, talk radio, Matt Drudge, and anyone else who won’t simply take the word of the liberal media for the way they say things are. Todd penned a very long piece in The Atlantic attacking the late Roger Ailes for creating an atmosphere where the American people no longer trust the media. What Todd ignores is his own partisan past and the fact that media bias existed long before Fox News, and all conservative media does it point out what the liberal media leaves on the cutting-room floor — the things they don’t want the public to know. There’s nothing wrong with being a liberal journalist; the problem for Chuck and his friends is they don’t admit their biases. We point out some inconvenient truths about Chuck and his theory.

Finally, we talk about the two funerals over the weekend that seemed like they’d never end, one for Aretha Franklin and the other for Sen. John McCain, both of which devolved into partisan attacks on President Donald Trump. In addition, the media fawned glowingly over McCain, mostly because they could use it to attack the President, and the Franklin memorial involved noted racist and anti-Semite Louis Farrakhan sitting on stage with former President Bill Clinton. Weirdly, photos from the memorial of Clinton used by major media outlets conveniently crop Farrakhan out of the frame. If Chuck Todd wants to know why the American people have lost faith in the media, maybe he should start here. All of this is addressed in my book and discussed on the show today.
