Two former girlfriends of Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh released a statement on Monday of support for the judge just days after Christine Blasey Ford accused Kavanaugh of sexually assaulting her at a party back when he was in high school in the 1980s.

“I’ve been friends with Brett Kavanaugh for over 35 years and dated him during high school. In every situation where we were together, he always respectful, kind and thoughtful. The accusations leveled against him in no way represent the decent young man I knew. We remain good friends and I admire him as a husband, father and professional,” Maura Kane, Kavanaugh’s high school girlfriend, said, according to Robert Costa, a national political reporter for the Washington Post. (RELATED: Kavanaugh Reportedly Denied Being At The Party Where Alleged Sexual Misconduct Happened)

“Brett Kavanaugh and I have been good friends since high school. I dated him in college, and he was and is nothing like the person who has been described. He always conducted himself honorably with me at all times when we were together. He was always a perfect gentleman and I vouch for him completely,” Maura Fitzgerald, another former significant other of Kavanaugh, said.

Kavanaugh denied the allegations and he continues to have the president’s support. “This is a completely false allegation. I have never done anything like what the accuser describes — to her or to anyone,” Kavanaugh said. (RELATED: Kavanaugh Breaks Silence After Sexual Assault Allegation)
