Republican Sen. Lindsey Graham of South Carolina questioned who financed the polygraph test that Christine Blasey Ford reportedly took to corroborate her allegations of sexual assault against Judge Brett Kavanaugh.

“If Ms. Ford really did not want to come forward, never intended to come forward, never planned to come forward, why did she pay for a polygraph in August?” Graham asked Monday on Fox News’s “Hannity.” “And why did she hire a lawyer in August if she never intended to do what she’s doing?”

“And who paid for it?” Graham continued.

WATCH:

Graham was referring to a lie detector test Ford alleges she took at the advice of her attorney, Debra Katz. Katz reportedly recommended the test fearing that Ford would be accused of lying if she came forward with the allegations. The polygraph was administered by a former FBI agent, according to The Washington Post.

WaPo notes the results “concluded that Ford was being truthful when she said a statement summarizing her allegations was accurate,” not that the story itself was accurate. (RELATED: Lindsey Graham Defends Trump: Obama ‘Politicized’ The DOJ)

Kavanaugh will appear before the Senate Judiciary Committee on Monday to discuss the accusation. Ford has not yet responded to the request to appear and testify.
