Shots Fired At Pennsylvania Courthouse Leaves One Dead, Four Injured, Police Say

Multiple people have been shot at a Fayette County district judge’s office in Masontown, Pennsylvania, authorities say, in a tragedy leaving one dead and four injured.

One person was pronounced dead on the scene, a spokesperson for the Fayette County Emergency Management told ABC News on Wednesday.

Among the injured is a law enforcement officer, police told a local ABC affiliate.

A witness told WTAE they saw a man chasing after a woman running across the street when he raised his gun and opened fire.

Pennsylvania State Police tweeted the following:

One witness reportedly saw people “running for their lives.”

The shooting occurred at District Magistrate Daniel Shimshock’s office at some point in the afternoon Wednesday.
