Connecticut residents call 911 after cable outage

What would you do if your cable went out in the middle of “Breaking Bad”? Call 911, obviously.

That’s exactly what several residents of Fairfield and New Haven, Conn. did over the weekend when Cablevision subscribers’ cable and Internet went out.

Police posted a friendly Facebook reminder that cable outages do not qualify as emergencies.

“According to Fairfield police, they are unsure the exact number of 911 calls they have received because of the service outage,” WSFB Hartford reports. “However, they told Eyewitness News that it was ‘quite a few.'”

Clearly, those police have never had a mad hangover on a rainy Sunday afternoon because then a cable outage ABSOLUTELY constitutes an emergency.
