A week after allegations emerged involving a distasteful act with a dead pig, U.K. Prime Minister David Cameron finally denied the claims.

Cameron told reporters Monday that he had been “too busy running the country” to adequately respond. But he quickly dismissed the premise of the biographer who made the claims, saying that the former political ally’s motives were transparent — “everyone can see straight through it.”

According to Cameron, his office had issued “a very specific denial” last Monday in the wake of the claims first appearing. But in fact, that statement stated that the prime minister’s office “will not dignify” the allegations with a response. (RELATED: UK’s David Cameron Won’t Comment On Bizarre Pig Allegations)

The biographer, who made the claim in an advance-published chapter with The Daily Mail, allegedly turned against Cameron after the prime minister failed to reward his political donations with a cabinet position.

According to biographer Lord Michael Ashcroft, Cameron put his genitals in a dead pig’s mouth at a party thrown by an exclusive club at Oxford University. It is not publicly known whether Cameron belonged to the Piers Gaveston Society — but plenty of information is available about distasteful rituals for the 1980s-era practices of the Bullingdon Club, of which he was a known member. The prime minister finally spoke to the press this week while traveling to New York for the U.N. General Assembly.
