America’s commencement speeches are generally deplorable. When there’s a good one, it’s notable. When there’s a world-historically awesome one, it’s worthy of a celebration.

On Sunday, Hank Azaria — the actor most famous as the voice for several characters you know and love on “The Simpsons” — gave a commencement speech for the ages at Tufts University, his alma mater.

This year’s newly-minted Tufts graduates got to hear some wonderful, hard-earned words of wisdom from Azaria — and important advice from Springfield police chief Clancy Wiggum, small businessmen Moe Szyslak and Apu Nahasapeemapetilon, crusty old sea captain Horatio “Pete” McCallister and Jeff Albertson (better known as “Comic Book Guy”).

Never let it be said that Tufts graduates didn’t get an incredibly valuable parting gift after spending somewhere in the neighborhood of $240,000 for four years of tuition, fees and room and board.
