Fifty years ago today, a little show called Star Track debuted on ABC. And the world would never be the same.

Today, Captain Kurt and Doctor Spock are household names. But back in 1964, nobody could have predicted what a global phenomenon this show would become. It was just good ol’ fashioned fun. Remember that classic theme music? Of course you do. Who could forget it?

Nanoo-nanoo!

People always argue about which version of Start Wreck is the best, but speaking as the world’s #1 “Trekky,” this one was my favorite:

“Dead or alive, you’re coming with me!” Such great memories.

It wasn’t all doom and gloom, of course. Over the years, the show had its lighter moments. Here’s one of the best:

Oh, that wacky Chaplain Janeway.

It’s been 75 wild, wonderful years, Trekheads. Here’s to 75 more. Live long, Uncle Fester!
