Canada’s government website in charge of managing immigration applications from the United States crashed due to a massive influence of traffic, after Donald Trump took the lead in the 2016 presidential election.

Numerous actors, including Barbara Streisand, Bryan Cranston and Miley Cyrus claimed that they would move to Canada if Trump was elected President. Left-leaning comedians and entertainers such as  Jon Stewart, Lena Dunham and Amy Schumer also made that pledge.

The website appears to have crashed due to a “500 Internal Server Error,” which is generally caused when too many individuals attempt to access a webpage at the same time. It has not been confirmed that the crash is due to the election, but the timing is very close.
