A Washington, D.C., yoga instructor was found dead early Tuesday morning after originally disappearing on her way to Christmas dinner with friends.

The body of Tricia McCauley, 46, was found in her car. It was parked on 22nd and M Street.

Authorities in the area were searching for her since she went missing Sunday.

“Tricia is gone, they have found her body,” said her brother Brian McCauley, according to CBS affiliate WUSA-9. “Thank you all for your work, support and love. To all of her D.C. family, I know she truly thought of you that way, thank you for being there for her all these years. Hang on to each other.”

Authorities think they may have found the suspect; they obtained surveillance video that shows a man they believe was driving McCauley’s car.

After law enforcement officials sent out a picture of the suspect, they received a tip from a friend of McCauley who said he saw someone who looked similar acting suspicious.

Police approached the suspect, who is accused of robbing a CVS, according to WUSA-9. The man was arrested and gave up the keys to her car after being confronted by police, according to NBC4. Police are still asking civilians to call if they have more information on the man’s whereabouts at the time, as well as the timeline of his actions.

“Let me express on behalf of all of us in Washington, D.C. our deepest condolences to her family,” D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser said at a news conference, according to NBC4.

McCauley, who was an actress in the movie “Step Up” starring Channing Tatum, was admired by family and friends.

“She is one of the kindest and most gentle people that I know,” Kate Debelack, McCauley’s friend, said.

“Tricia was a very strong leader and at the same time a very gentle, compassionate, nurturing person,” said Jasmine Chehrazi, Yoga District founder and colleague and friend of McCauley. “She basically embodied the teachings of yoga, which start with ahimsa, which is nonviolence and acts of love.”
