Quebec police say only one of the two original suspects in Sunday night’s fatal Mosque shooting was actually involved in the crime, the Associated Press reports.

Media organizations originally believed that two suspects, known as Alexandre Bissonnette and Mohamed el Khadir, were responsible for killing six worshipers at a Quebec City mosque. Canadian media reports now appear to suggest that Khadir is merely a witness to the crime, along with incriminating anecdotes about Bissonnette.

Quebec police said they did not believe there were any additional suspects in the attack. Police indicated to reporters early Monday they would avoid “discussing motives” but said the attacker(s) clearly wanted to “instill fear.”

Bissonnette was reportedly identified by the moderator of a pro-Syrian Refugee Facebook page as a well-known “troll,” in comments to La Presse. He also posted a link on his Facebook page to French National Front leader Marine Le Pen, who opposes Syrian refugee admittance into France.

His classmates also said he exhibited antisocial behavior, and was bullied in school as a child.

President Donald Trump called Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau Monday to express condolences on behalf of the American people.
