At least two people were killed and several were injured in a stabbing incident Thursday night in the Dutch city of Maastricht.

Newspaper De Telegraaf reports authorities have arrested two people, while 10 people are treated in the hospital. Police said the investigation into the motive behind the attack is “ongoing,” but that terrorism was unlikely.

The suspects were arrested by a nearby mosque, where one of the victims were found, according to De Telegraaf. One of them was allegedly bloody and possessed a knife at the time of the arrest. A witness told the newspaper that the man was seen at the mosque prior to the attack.

The stabbings occurred at two separate locations within a few hundred yards of each other. Locals reported loud shouting in the residential neighborhood where the stabbings took place. Maastricht is located close to the borders to Germany and Belgium.

Several similar attacks have taken place around Europe this year, often with a jihadi motive.
