MSNBC’s Joe Scarborough made a bizarre reference to Harry Potter on “Morning Joe” Tuesday, and turned the segment into another highly awkward moment.

After a clip ran of GOP Sen. Ron Johnson discussing the latest FBI scandal, the camera cut to Scarborough and he felt inspired to cite a fantasy novel.

“Harry Potter! It’s a Harry Potter secret society. Ron and Hermoine and Harry would go meet off-site with their secret society,” Scarborough said. He then assumed a high pitched voice and continued the rant.

“Hello, Harry! What is that — no, seriously, what is that?” Scarborough said.

“He’s a mess,” co-host Mika Brzezinski replied.

“He is a hot mess,” Scarborough shot back. “He’s a chairman. He’s a chairman of the Homeland Security Committee. This is a committee, Mika, where past chairmen would actually talk to the FBI to try to figure out when the next terror attack was going to be launched against the United States of America. Now he’s going around with deep state conspiracy theories. He’s attacking the FBI.”

Brzezinski looked uncomfortable and began to cough and fidget, but Scarborough kept on pushing.

“The guy that’s supposed to coordinate with the FBI and the CIA and intel agencies to try to figure out when the the next attacks are coming, that guy is going around talking about secret societies,” Scarborough said.

“He’s kookoonamuno,” Brzezinski said.

“I don’t know what the means,” Scarborough replied.

“Just trying to get you to stop,” she said.
