Canada defeated the USA in women’s hockey at the 2018 winter Olympics while most of you were sleeping.

America might have fallen 2-1 in a thrilling game, but didn’t look all that bad at the end of the game. Our women didn’t take their loss lightly, and started scrapping in front of the Canadian goaltender.

Fighting is common in men’s hockey. It’s one of the best parts of the game. The same can’t be said for women’s hockey. It’s pretty rare, and that’s why I love to see this little dustup. It signals to me that tensions have boiled over, and that a rematch in the gold medal game would be lit.

There’s also zero chance our women’s hockey player are ever going to back down to Canada. You want to trade blows in front of the net? Our women will absolutely throw back. That’s simply what the American spirit is all about.

I hope that little exchange to end the game sent a message to Canada. We’ll see you again, and next time you won’t be so lucky.
