A California McDonald’s flipped its Golden Arches upside down to form a “W” in honor of women and their accomplishments.

Patricia Williams, a California McDonald’s franchisee, turned the sign into a “W” in anticipation of International Women’s Day Thursday. The move is a “celebration of women everywhere,” a McDonald’s spokesperson told Business Insider.

“In celebration of women everywhere, and for the first time in our brand history, we flipped our iconic arches for International Women’s Day in honor of the extraordinary accomplishments of women everywhere and especially in our restaurants,” McDonald’s global chief diversity officer Wendy Lewis said, Business Insider reported.

“From restaurant crew and management to our C-suite of senior leadership, women play invaluable roles at all levels, and together with our independent franchise owners, we’re committed to their success,” Lewis continued.

McDonald’s indicated it will also flip its logo on Twitter and Instagram. One hundred of its restaurants will have its staff sport hats and shirts applauding the achievements of women Thursday, and McDonald’s meals will also come with International Women’s Day goodies.

Barbie also launched a new line of dolls to honor International Women’s Day. The new line follows its unveiling of a hijab-wearing Barbie doll at Glamour’s Women of the Year summit in November to honor the Muslim American Olympic fencer Ibtihaj Muhammad, who competed in the 2016 Olympics wearing a hijab. (RELATED: Barbie Debuts Hijab-Wearing Doll)
