Former White House Deputy Sebastian Gorka blamed Europe’s open borders for its uptick in Islamic terrorism and said leaders need better immigration policies to keep their citizens safe.
Several French police officers were ambushed while jogging Friday by someone pledging allegiance to the Islamic State. The gunman took hostages at a supermarket and was reportedly shot dead by police after killing multiple people.
“Twenty years ago they’d call in a hostage negotiator. They’d try and establish a line of communication, but with modern day jihadists they don’t want to negotiate,” Gorka said. “They want to kill as many people as possible.
Gorka said this isn’t the first time radical Islam has taken hold in France and referenced the 2015 market shooting in Paris.

“We’ve seen this before. Let’s not forget in 2015 in connection with the Charlie Hebdo shooting in Pairs,” he continued. “The philosophy is very, very simple. It’s about incurring as much carnage as possible in a high concentration of unarmed civilians. If you read Al Qaeda’s magazine inspire, if you read the ISIS magazine, they give you all the instructions. They tell you who to-choose and how to inflict as much damage as possible.”
Gorka believes France is allowing radical Islam to spiral out of control and thinks their policy of open borders is the main culprit of the carnage.
“It’s the politicians that have a larger problem,” Gorka concluded. “With the open border situation in the EU, it is a problem that has yet to be adequately grappled with.”
