Former Attorney General Eric Holder predicted Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s probe into Russian election interference will last two years.
If Holder’s timeline is correct, Mueller’s investigation would last until May 2019. He was hired in May 2017 after President Donald Trump fired FBI Director James Comey.

“I think this is a classic case. He’s building from the bottom up,” Holder told MSNBC’s Chris Hayes. “People have to understand that this is going to take some time. This is — we’re only about a year or so into this. From my view of this, I always thought this was about a two-year case.”
Holder considers the investigation to be ahead of schedule.
“But they’ve been moving almost at light speed [with] what they’ve done in the first year,” he said.
Holder had another prediction: that Mueller will ultimately drop a charge of obstruction of justice on Trump, even though the special counsel is supposed to be examine collusion with Russia.
