A woman gave birth to a baby in Mississippi’s only abortion clinic.

Instead of technicians performing an abortion on the woman — who remains unnamed — they helped the woman deliver a healthy baby. The woman had gone to the Jackson Women’s Health clinic to receive an ultrasound and went into labor while she was at the clinic.

The woman had come to the clinic to learn how far along she was in her pregnancy, according to Jackson Women’s Health Organization Director Shannon Brewer, USA Today reported.

The baby was delivered without complications and the woman and her new daughter were taken to the hospital shortly thereafter.

Mississippi was the first state to ban abortions after 15 weeks gestation in mid March, and Louisiana became the second state to do the same Thursday. Eighteen other states ban abortions after more than 20 weeks gestation. (RELATED: Louisiana Bans Abortions After 15 Weeks In Pregnancy)

Nineteen states adopted 63 new restrictions on abortion access in 2017 while 21 states adopted proactive measures to expand access to reproductive health services or to protect reproductive rights, according to a Jan. 2, 2018 Guttmacher Institute report.
