The National Rifle Association trolled on Friday the #WearOrange gun violence awareness campaign started by Everytown for Gun Safety.

“NRA SOCIAL GOING ORANGE: While Everytown for Gun Safety has devoted close to no resources to making citizens safer, the NRA continues to be the world’s leading gun safety organization since 1871. Send us pics in your orange hunting and NRA gear to be featured. #wearorange,” the official Twitter NRA account tweeted to its followers.

“Orange has been hunters and sportsmen’s choice for decades. No organization in the world does more than the NRA to promote the safe and responsible use of firearms. Don’t forget to send us your orange,” it added.

Celebrities who posted selfies wearing orange as part of the social media campaign were not pleased with move by the NRA and tweeted as such.

“The @NRA trying to sabotage #wearorange is disgusting and heartless,” Alyssa Milano tweeted. “NRA members! I know you are good people. Is this really a club you want to belong to? A club of bullies that feels threatened by people wearing orange to honor the victims of preventable gun violence?”
