MSNBC’s Mika Brzezinski said that Americans are feeling “empty and helpless” with President Trump in office on Thursday.

Brzezinski was interviewing Robert F. Kennedy’s daughter Kerry about her new “Ripples of Hope” book, which reflects on her father’s legacy and impact on his family.

RFK’s legacy “is so needed to be reviewed today as we feel so empty and helpless,” Brzezinski said. (RELATED: Morning Joe and Mika Go Nuclear On Trump About Facelift Comments)

Brezinski cited a statistic that shows Americans trust the media more than they trust Trump (53 percent to 39 percent) and contrasted Trump’s leadership to that of RFK, reading his famous quote: “Each time a man stands up for an ideal, or acts to improve the lot of others, or strikes out against injustice, he sends forth a tiny ripple of hope.” (RELATED: Robert F. Thursday’s Rasmussen Report shows Trump’s approval rating at 49 percent, with 34 percent who “strongly approve.” The nation’s unemployment rate sits at 3.8, the lowest rate in almost two decades.
