President Donald Trump took issue with the media’s coverage of his recent summit with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un in an interview with former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee.

“It’s a shame that the fake news covers it the way they do. It’s, honestly, it’s really — it’s almost treasonous, if you wanna know the truth,” Trump declared, adding that “if you listen to the mainstream media, it’s almost like [he] lost a negotiation.”

Trump’s frustration largely stems from his belief that he has not been sufficiently credited for his historic summit which was just a week earlier. The president has especially highlighted North Korea’s returning of U.S. dead from the Korean war saying nearly 200 have been returned home since the summit and subsequent agreement, in a campaign speech Wednesday evening.

“We got back our great fallen heroes — the remains sent back today. Already, 200 got sent back,” he said, also noting his efforts to free U.S. hostages from North Korea without concessions.
