Rescuers reportedly pulled all 12 boys and their coach from deep within a cave complex in northern Thailand as officials embarked on the third day of the international operation.
Eight of the 12 boys who had been trapped within the flooded cave were freed during the first two days of the operation, which is spearheaded by Thailand’s Navy Seal Team.
The ninth and eleventh children are now recovering in hospital and are said to be “healthy.” There is no word yet on the health of the 12th boy and the coach. (RELATED: Eighth Boy Rescued From Flooded Cave In Thailand, Witness Says)
Tuesday’s operation was expected to take longer than the two previous days, according to the Facebook page of the Royal Thai Navy SEALs.
The “Wild Boars” soccer team and their coach got trapped on June 23 when heavy rains flooded the tunnels in a cave the boys were exploring after practice.
The team of boys, ages 11 to 16, are trapped in a cave located in the northern part of Thailand in the Chiang Rai province.
