Former first lady Michelle Obama is poised to hit the campaign trail ahead of the midterm elections, but not for any particular candidate on either side of the aisle.

Obama will be rallying instead to encourage Americans to register to vote through an initiative called “When We All Vote,” according to a Politico report Thursday. The campaign hopes to raise $8 million through corporate sponsorship and foundation grants that will promote voter registration. It also seeks to increase volunteer recruitment and training, improve the voter registration process, and further the conversation and participation in the voting process across the country, according to Fortune.

“Voting is the only way to ensure that our values and priorities are represented in the halls of power,” Obama said in a statement Thursday. “And it’s not enough to just vote for president every four years. We all have to vote in every single election: for mayor, governor, school board, state legislature and Congress.”

Various public service announcements and live events around the country, the first of which will go live Thursday and continue throughout the fall, will feature the former first lady alongside various celebrities such as Tom Hanks, country singers Faith Hill and Tim McGraw, and others, to encourage citizens to cast their ballots this midterm season, Politico reported.

“The future of our families, our communities and our country belongs to those of us who show up, cast our votes, and make our voices heard,” Obama said in her statement.

Obama has yet to commit to endorsing any one candidate publicly, despite the Democrats precarious positioning for the upcoming midterm races, particularly in the Senate race, where they are struggling to defend 10 seats while picking up two more. (RELATED: The Numbers Are In And It’s Looking Pretty Bad For Senate Dems In November)

Still her campaign team hasn’t shelved the possibility of candidate endorsements or appearances in the upcoming months entirely.

“Mrs. Obama is really excited about this voter registration effort, and her fall schedule is still coming together,” a person close to her team told Politico.
